For most, pregnancy is a time of joy and overwhelming happiness, but it's also a time of planning and preparation. There is so much to do once that plus sign appears!
One thing that parents sometimes leave off their to-do list until the very end is booking their newborn session, and that can be a problem.
Newborn photographers book sessions MONTHS in advance, and most only take on a small, set number of sessions each month (I personally only take on 6 sessions each month). What that means for you is that your first choice photographer may be completely booked for your baby's birth month if you wait until the end of your pregnancy to secure your date.
I always advise new parents to book their session as soon as possible, preferably during their second trimester. This gives parents time to research photographers in their area during their first trimester and leaves plenty of time for planning their session before baby arrives.
A lot of my clients that book well in advance use that time to prepay for a collection they think will fit their needs using my payment plan options as well.
You have so much on your plate when planning for your baby's arrival, but don't forget to set aside time to secure their newborn session. All the love and happiness that will fill your home once your baby joins you there deserves to be documented.
They will never be this little again.
These memories are possibly the most important things I have the honor of capturing for my families. I hate the thought of anyone missing out on these moments.
